VBS 2009

HBC VBS 2009

It's VBS time once again at HBC. This year we’re counting down to fun at Operation Space: A Close Encounter with God’s Word. In this galactic VBS adventure, kids learn how God reveals Himself through His world and His Word. Our VBS Kickoff & Pre-registration will take place at the HBC CLC building on Saturday, June 20th from 12pm to 2pm. We will have Noah's Ark, a water slide, as well as hot dogs, chips and refreshments.

VBS 2009 runs from June 22nd to the 26th from 6pm to 8:45pm. VBS will conclude on our Family Night on June 28th (time TBD). If you'd like to learn more about Operation Space, please visit their site or contact us at 606.346.4931.
Upcoming Events
  • Annie Armstrong Goal Met – Praise God!! We went over our Annie Armstrong North American Mission Offering Goal!! Our goal was $1800 and you have given $1820.25. May God bless everyone who gave so generously and cheerfully!
  • Bible Study: “Ordering Your Private World” - based on the book by Gordon MacDonald. This study focuses on 5 areas of our lives that we can work on in order to organize our inner lives to honor God. It’s easy to look “put together” on the outside, but how “put together” do our inner lives look to God? We will meet once a week on Tuesday nights beginning at 7:00 PM beginning this week. The study should last about 5 to 6 weeks.
  • Attention everyone who is a Secret Sister: When holidays roll around or your birthday is near please check in the vestibule to see if you might have a surprise waiting in there for you! Having a Secret Sister is secretly fun! Oops!
  • Food Needed - The need for food in Lincoln Co. is phenomenal. If each family could bring one can of food each week we will distribute them to the Fort Logan Ministry and help out the hungry in our area. Thank You!
  • Nursery Workers Needed - We are in great need of more nursery workers on Sunday mornings. If you would be willing to help out in the nursery, please see Whitney or Monica Grizzell or sign up on the sheet in the entryway.
  • VBS – Our VBS will be June 22 – 26. We still need a teacher for the 2nd grade class. Also, we really need to split the youth group up into boys and girls or junior high and senior high classes. So, if you enjoy teaching a youth class please let Jenny Burris know. We could still use many more helpers!
  • Saturday – May 9 – Paint & clean youth room in basement. All youth, parents, and church family are welcome to help with this project. Lunch will be served. See Anieta, Jamie or Nancy if you have questions.
  • Fusion Youth Rally - Wednesday – May 13 – 7:00 PM – Fusion Youth Rally at LCHS auditorium featuring Todd Agnew & Level Ground. More information to come.
